Location. Benicia is ideally located adjacent to the I-680 corridor and to I-80 via I-780. 

Surrounded by water on two sides and miles of open space to the north, Benicia is in the southernmost section of Solano County, overlooking the Carquinez Strait, which connects San Pablo Bay to the west and the Sacramento Delta to the east. 


3 Economic Areas. Benicia’s three distinct economic areas — Industrial Park and Port, Commercial Area, and Downtown Commercial — each appeal to a different type of business.

Businesses. Companies with a significant presence in Benicia include Valero Benicia Refinery, Bio-Rad, and Bebe.  Major companies headquartered here include Dunlop Manufacturing, Insight Glass, Interhealth, and Pacific Ozone.
